Sacramental Life Preparation

Baptism...
is the basis of our Christian life. Through Baptism, we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God. We are brought into the Church. Parents should call the parish office four months in advance of the requested date for a baptism. An interview with a priest of the parish and Baptismal Catechesis with the parents must precede Baptism. At least one parent must be a registered and practicing Catholic of San Antonio Parish. At least one godparent must be a practicing and registered Catholic.

Confirmation...
is the gift of continued empowerment of mission in the Church through the Holy Spirit which was begun at Baptism. Students are requested to attend two years of religious education classes. Adults are asked to participate in R.C.I.A. preparation.

Eucharist...
is the heart and summit of the life of the Church. Through the reception of the Body and Blood of Christ, Christians are led to a deeper relationship with Christ and with one another. Parents and children participate in special preparatory programs for the Sacraments of Initiation. Reconciliation provides for us a personal encounter with Christ and a celebration of God's unconditional love and forgiveness. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated on Saturday mornings at 9:00 AM, until all are heard, or by special appointment with the priest.

Anointing of the sick...
confers a special grace on Christians suffering illness of any kind (physical or emotional), persons about to have surgery or those of advancing age. This sacrament is offered during a monthly Mass of Anointing on the last Wednesday of the month. Special requests for anointing at other times should be directed to the Parish office.

Marriage...
is a covenant between a man and a woman establishing an intimate partnership of love for their whole lives. Couples seeking the Sacrament of Matrimony must be practicing Catholics (at least one party) who have been registered at San Antonio parish at least six months. Contact the parish office at least 12 months in advance of the requested date to schedule marriage preparation classes.
