San Antonio Health Ministry is a service offered in the parish that is a witness to Christ's healing power in His church. It focuses on wellness promotion, health education, information, referral and personal health counseling. This ministry provides health professionals in the parish who plan and direct the various activities and participate in the programs as presenters and consultants.

The Health Ministry Council meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7PM in the Good Shepard Ministry building. If you have any type of medical background you are always welcomed to join us.

 
Programs

• The Parish Nurse visits the sick in the hospital. If you are going to the hospital please contact the Parish Nurse to be sure you get a visit. Follow up telephone calls are also made to be sure you are on the road to recovery.
• The Prayer Tree is a group of individuals who pray for the sick of the Parish.
• The Parish Nurse also provides visits to the elderly and sick of our parish in their own homes, in assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
• Blood pressure and blood sugar screenings are offered on the last Wednesday of the month after the Day of Anointing Mass. From 8:30AM until all have been seen. With the assistance of other registered nurses and volunteers in the Parish, your screening time will be brief.
• A Chapter of Emotions Anonymous meets here every Tuesday.
• The Blood Mobile comes to our church to make it easier for our parishioners to share the gift of life with others.
• Programs of health & Wellness are also offered throughout the year.
