San Antonio Faith Formation Ministries

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION... a life long formation in faith

Our Mission Statement... Faith Formation is a lifelong journey taken by Christians with the assistance of their church. Parents are the primary educators and have the greatest influence on their children. Adolescents and children are the future of our church and must be nurtured in their faith In order to carry on their role as active members. Ongoing adult faith formation should be valued and appreciated. It is vital to a mature understanding of our faith.

Faith Formation Programs...

Grades K through 5th - Faith Formation - Wednesday or Thursday afternoon from 4:00 - 5:15 p.m. A focused program that includes worship, prayer, doctrine, church history, Bible stories, lives of the saints, service to one another and the community. Children from Grade 2 and above also prepare for the Sacraments of I Reconciliation, Confirmation and Eucharist, which includes workshops on specific Sunday afternoons.
Grades 6 through 8th - The EDGE - Sunday nights from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The Edge is a Catholic middle school youth ministry experience created for early adolescents. The Edge is designed to meet the educational, spiritual, emotional and social needs of young adolescents. Kids are always welcomed and encouraged to bring their friends. The Edge meets every Sunday evening during the school year following the 6:00pm Life Teen Mass
Grades 9 through 12th - LIFE TEEN - Sunday nights from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The LIFE TEEN Program is a comprehensive youth ministry program with a strong focus on the Eucharist. Starting with a weekly LIFE TEEN Mass, high school. teens are placed in an environment where they have the opportunity to experience fully the greatest gift we have as the Church. This liturgy provides the cultural connection for the teens—allowing them to take ownership of their faith so it s not just their "parent's thing" anymore. They begin to develop a relationship with Jesus that is both personal and real. Immediately following the Mass, teens gather for the LIFE Night to learn about the Church and their faith in challenging ways.

Liturgical Are Welcome

All Faith Formation children are invited to fully participate as greeters, lectors, choir members and gift bearers in monthly liturgies and on special occasions, such as All Saints Day, Christmas and Ash Wednesday.

Vacation Bible School...

Children from Kindergarten to 5th grade are invited to participate in our Vacation Bible School program held on the second full week after the Fourth of July! Through group sessions, prayer, games, arts and crafts and other activities, the children are helped to develop a loving relationship with God.
